Professional Practice

Training Aim

The purpose of this module Is to provide the learner with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to work alongside experienced practitioners, in real life EARLY LEARNING AND CARE services, with the support and direction of a placement supervisor. During professional practice learners have the opportunity to integrate knowledge and practice, observe, and learn, develop, and refine their skills, and engage in reflexive practice.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Participate effectively in an early years’ service, working independently while under supervision in line with current legislation, regulatory frameworks, and policy.
  2. Understand and demonstrate the importance of assessing, observing, documenting, and planning for children’s learning and development.
  3. Understand and demonstrate the importance of assessing, observing, documenting, and planning for children’s learning and development.
  4. Communicate in effective manner with the children, parents, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  5. Engage with a working community of practice.
  6. Reflect on placement experiences for own personal and professional development.
