Care of the Older Person

Training Aim

The objective of the Care of the Older Person module is to guide you to understand and demonstrate good work practices in the provision of care for older people and understand the concept of the ageing process. You will also learn to satisfy the needs of older people in a variety of care settings and enhance the quality of life for the older person.

QQI Level 5 Care Skills & Care of the Older Person

The purpose of our QQI Level 5 Care Skills & Care of the Older Person modules is to equip you with the skills, knowledge and competence required to pursue roles as Healthcare Assistants specializing in elderly care within the community and in Homecare Services. Furthermore, completion of the two modules can contribute towards achieving a QQI Level 5 major award in Healthcare Support.

 

About the course:

Upon enrolment, you’ll get access to the induction information allow you to familiarise yourself with our online platform and learn how to navigate your courses successfully. Subsequently, you’ll gain access to the online platform for 4 months, providing ample time to complete the assessments for the 2 modules and fulfil the required 40 hours of work placement. Assessment methods include assignments, projects, and skills demonstrations, all graded through continuous evaluation.
